Indeed, Miss Pickles. Some ideas are just better when they remain in theory. Though I have to say... I really have nothing positively constructive to say about any of my ex's and my last ex was nearly a year ago, so... Maybe I should stay away from such banter.

Lewis, it IS a humor column so don't take it too
seriously. That being said, on a serious note, I see where he is coming
from with regard to emo being an insult to others. Some people really do
have real problems aside from their parents pissing them off. In my
personal opinion, emo is a phase you go through when you're still trying to
figure yourself out, and hopefully you can go back and laugh at yourself when
high school is over. And if you like dressing that way and it's your
style - so be it, but I think the author here was moreso highlighting the
issues behind the dress - cutting, for instance.

Perfect. Normally I would not respond to a commenter of an article I wrote myself, but YOU are a special one. I appreciate your emphasis of the word, 'YOU' by the way. So tell me lewis seto, why are YOU so angry? Why are YOU so judgmental? The irony in your comment to this article is your hypocrisy. For this contradiction of yours I applaud you. You gave me exactly what I was digging for in this piece, an EMO-tional response. Hopefully your tears won't make your mascara run or else instead of a raccoon-eyed fool you will look like melting candle wax.

One word of advice, look up the meaning of the word, "satire." This is a humor column. The act of whining, crying, and cutting is unacceptable in these parts. Thank you for entertaining my perspective.

Raccoon-eyed fool? It's called eyeshadow and many, many people who are not EMO AT ALL wear loads of it. I'd like to see you say that some hot girl at a bar. Fail point.

Do you get off on being so judgemental? You don't know that people who dress like 'emos' are at all how you describe. Is it a crime to dress a certain way? What if they simply like the style?

Just to throw it out there too..physical attraction is not every guys #1 priority. There are some beautiful people out there but they're either completely self-centered, or just not interesting at all. Some of course are and we test these relationships. See Joe's Femme Fatale blog for evidence. Personality always wins me, and humor is a huge plus too. This is what I looked for, and I would hope others found in me as well.

It's the good souls that struggle and have it the hardest.always, because they can't conform to the broken world.
As soon as the wants disappear, so does the struggle to attain what you don't really need. The odd twist is that it's not always a mask that one wears that fools you, it's the false image of yourself that the world holds up to you to see into..and then there's the falseness of the world itself and what it claims to need to continue spinning.
